Our fertilization recommendation for growing fertile avocado trees in Israel and South Africa
Soil type: light to medium.
Plant density: 400-600 Trees / ha.
Expected yield: 10 -20 t/ha.

These rates should be split as follows:
I. Early spring
- 50 kg N/ha, it can be applied as 2-3 applications of:
ammonium nitrate, totaling 150 kg/ha, or urea, totaling 110 kg/ha. - Half the annual rate of the P, as 2-3 applications of:
Haifa P, totaling 67 L/ha, or MAP, totaling 50 kg/ha.
II. During the active growth season
Nitrogen (100-200 Kg N/ha) is best applied in 8 - 10 applications by fertigation in the form of ammonium nitrate (or urea) and Multi-K.
Potassium - all potassium should be supplied as Multi-K (KNO3) in five monthly applications.
III. Autumn
Half the annual rate of the P, as 2-3 applications of:
Haifa P, totaling 67 L/ha, or MAP, totaling 50 kg/ha.
